Our Beginners-Intermediate course provides students with all the knowledge necessary to start mixing right away. As well as being guided through all the different types of DJing equipment available, the modules also provide more detailed information about each stage of the mixing process, such as how to setup decks and a mixer, how to cue tracks, choosing the right track to play and knowing when to mix it, how to set levels and EQ, as well as more advanced effects processing and mixing techniques. Furthermore, exercises are provided, with accompanying audio files, to enable students to improve their jogging and beatmatching skills. The course has been designed and presented by our very own certified trainer, music producer and DJ – Rob Jones, and is presented in a series of online videos that you can watch where and when you prefer – with a full complement of accompanying downloadable materials for your future reference, which consists of comprehensive written notes and customized mp3s for you to practice mixing with. Parallax is a unique effect that is part vocoder and part echo/reverb matrix. It can create subtle, modulating filter effects that swell and transform through beautiful, algorithmic spaces. At its heart is a 10-band filterbank that can be shifted in real time to bring out resonances, shift tonal balance and animate specific frequencies. The output of the filter stage is processed by a simple yet effective delay line and algorithmic blurring. With these two chains of processors sounds can be completely resculpted, transformed and reconfigured in frequency and spatial balance.

Speektra is a speech simulation synthesizer based on the VOSIM method developed by Kaegi and Tempelaars in the 1970s. It uses bursts of pulses with formant characteristics to synthesize robotic vowel sounds. VOSIM (VOice SIMulation) sound synthesis is based on the idea that by employing repeating tone-burst signals of variable pulse duration and variable delay, a sound output of high linguistic and musical expressive power can be obtained. The implementation of VOSIM stretches things a bit further, allowing you to seamlessly morph between vowels, manually or via a modulator. You can also choose your voice register (Bass to Soprano). Kristall | Sound Echo Prism

Kristall – a plugin inspired by Arovane’s Gestalt, out now on Tapes. Kristall is a unique delay device that creates “prisms” of echo patterns. It sends audio through a delay feedback line and resamples the output into 2 discrete branches. You can then manipulate each branch independently and adjust playback locations for each channel. Use Kristall as a simple delay or create segmented repetitions from the feedback buffer that modulate and overlap. The result creates complex patterns that augment the delay feedback in unconventional ways, uncovering myriad possibilities for sound experimentation.
