This is the second of two packs with Wula Drum’s Guinea ensemble, the industry leader in high-quality West African percussion manufacturing. This installment focuses on broader West African rhythms and features the kirin, kongoma, dundun, and djembe. The lead percussionist and art director for Wula, M’Bemba Bangoura drew inspiration from his time in dance companies for this pack. The ensemble channeled elegant but electrifying energy into its sounds. Although they’d feel right at home in a dance piece, they’re primed for any type of production from trap to pop to scores and beyond.

The Biwa is a Japanese short-necked fretted Lute, often used in narrative storytelling. It is the chosen instrument of Benten, goddess of music, eloquence, poetry, and education in Japanese Buddhism. The Hachion is a project that aims to create a new sound source by sampling traditional Japanese musical instruments handed down from ancient times mixing that with Contemporary music. These activities are focused on creating new values, by connecting Japanese culture and the World music which has unlimited potential. This Biwa is a plucked string instrument and also like the Shamisen, it is generally played with a plectrum called Bachi. While they both may sound alike, a good way to express the difference of these sound taste would be that if Shamisen was described as an Acoustic Guitar, then the Biwa would have the Classical Guitar vibe. Sound source obtained by sampling the actual Japanese musical instrument Biwa is performed by Makiko Morimoto.

The library is based on 25 oriental percussion samples (Bongo) with tempo information. Each phrase is usually between 1,2 or 4 bars long. All phrases are played in the same tempo and can be easily combined with each other. This makes it easy to create a complete arrangement.

Another great percussion pack. This time different drums from Africa, Latin Amerika, India and Japan are joined together for 50 ensemble loops and 350 individual drum loops. The latter let you easily create more of your own ensemble combinations. Percussion is and will be always timeless and will make your tracks more danceable which makes this sample collection essential and on top efficient as numerous grooves can be generated. Tip: Play around with the loops lengths other than 4/4 to get more variation over time out of them.
