We took a journey back to the Golden Age of magnetic tape recording. We wanted to recreate all kinds of tape machines in software, from the ground up. After many months spent on research, measurement and on developing an architecture that would be flexible enough for the job, we knew we had nailed it… But we couldn’t stop there: We added the old noise-reduction systems that were often (mis)used for timbral compression effects. Then more heads and a global feedback path, which made an uber-tape-delay and realistic ‘one-shot’ tape flanging possible. Users familiar with analogue recording gear should instantly feel at home with Satin, and digital afficionados will also learn to love the magic of tape – Satin invites you to explore and find out for yourself.

Varitis. It comes from the ancient Greek word Βαρύτης (/va.ˈɾi.ti.s/) or Βαρύτητα (/va.ˈɾi.ti.ta/), meaning gravity. Space is certainly not the final frontier, since we, the human kind, haven’t unraveled all its mysteries yet. This sound set is inspired by space exploration and we tried to capture that feeling on our presets. Color and darkness, taking off and landing, time-travelling and stillness, void and signs of life – a broad spectrum of states, expressed through notes. Once again, this sound set aims at dark cinematic scoring for film and video games. Varitis is a collection of 121 presets for U-He’s Zebra² with dark and ghostly soundscapes, fx, swells, evocative and emotional pads, bass, arps and sequences. All of these sounds are waiting for you to explore them and discover their possibilities.

Kyhon has published a hallucinatory library with 172 Avant-garde, experimental presets. Those who know him from his Zebra² free library will understand the inspiration. Please use and try all midi Control Sources: aftertouch, modwheel and pitchwheel. If you use the Midi Control Sources you will find other completely new sounds. Regarding aftertouch: many of the sound require a long press! Kyhon worked very hard to create this futuristic library and wishes everyone a lot of fun and endless creativity. Many (or most of them) of the sounds start from note C3. (Note: You can go to his website here but be warned if you have Epilepsy there are a lot of bright flashing colors.)
