Gravitas is a modern, fingered electric bass guitar. It was designed as a flagship, all-purpose bass that adapts easily across a wide range of styles. Powered by our Neo Guitar Series engine, it includes a unified legato patch with natural legato, slide to pluck, slide no pluck, hammer-ons, and pull-offs. We’ve also added latch key articulations such as slide-up sustains and release falls. The engine features a strum mode for repeated notes and adjustable natural legato speed, allowing you to fine-tune transition speeds to your performance. Gravitas also provides a variety of genre-focused presets, as well as true DI-only versions of all base patches for shaping your own tone with amps and effects.

Vintage Horns 3, a collection of virtual instruments designed to authentically capture the sound of horn soloists and sections from the 1930s through the 1970s. This includes some of the most iconic horn styles of the era, such as the Detroit Soul Solo Bari Sax, 1970s R&B Solo Alto Sax, Grungy Rock ’N’ Roll Solo Tenor Sax, and the expressive Jazz-Fusion Flute, featuring wild flutter-tongue and “singing” articulations. Like its best-selling predecessors, Vintage Horns 3 wasn’t created to be a flawless, ultra-clean virtual instrument. Instead, our goal was to craft a collection of brass and woodwind instruments that embody the raw, organic character of horn players from the ‘30s to the ‘70s – complete with the quirks and imperfections that made their performances so memorable. This library draws inspiration from the distinctive playing styles of legendary musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Fred Wesley, Eddie Harris, Wayne Shorter, David Sanborn, and Lenny Pickett, as well as the powerhouse horn sections of Motown, Tower of Power, the J.B.’s, and the Rebirth Brass Band.

Barker Clarinet is a true legato clarinet library performed by conductor and educator, Joshua Barker. Recorded at Orb Studios in Austin, TX – we aimed to create an agile, emotive clarinet. We recorded all of the performances with natural, progressive vibrato. In our view, this helps warm up the sound and expands the emotional range of the instrument. Each patch was produced to more uniquely address certain contexts. The Emotional patch includes a more subtle style of vibrato – fragile but confident. The Workhorse patch is an agile, mezzo-forte instrument – great for traditional, upbeat contexts. The Fat Lead was actually recorded in the same space as Sasaki Trumpet/Austin Saxes – initially intended as an energetic compliment to those two libraries. What we found is that it also serves as an excellent, emotional instrument for strong, dramatic contexts where you really want the clarinet to properly sing. Lastly, we included a Breaths patch – to help sell the performance with both short inhales and longer, subdued inhales with the clarinetist in the ready position.

PLCK is not your typical pluck library. Most efforts behind existing pluck libraries involve recording samples in complete isolation. The issue with this is that it completely omits all the crucial “pre-pluck” information necessary for a lively pluck sample; that slight, anticipatory “brush” of your finger. To combat this, all of the round robin sustain samples were derived from procured, impulsive phrases. We went a step further and sourced our round robin release triggers from performances developed specifically for successive note writing; capturing the information “in-between” the notes. In addition to these techniques, we also made it a point to non-destructively hand-tune the individual samples by ear. This results in a warmer, more natural temperament with harmonies and doublings while retaining that particular note’s intonation evolution. Lastly, we opted to record the plucks at a comfortably-soft dynamic, which we felt produced the most interesting and useful tone for this release. The end result is a collection of instruments that you can essentially “guitar-chestrate” with for a variety of musical contexts both simple and intricate.
