With the intuitive preset browser you’ll be inspired with everything from traditional classical ensembles all the way to modern contemporary sounds. But don’t stop there, using the provided macros you can push and tweak the presets and get excellent results, with the minimum of fuss.
STRINGS Strings – Expressive, buttery and incredibly smooth, the strings shine when you need to capture delicacy and inner strength. They’re more than potent enough when you need to add some heat to your productions, but they’re at their best when they have room to breathe and you gently ride the expression (CC11).
Surreal Strings is a Kontakt interpretation of the Yamaha SS30 string synth (1981). We sampled four variations of Orchestra settings, another sample set with Orchestra off, and a sixth sample set with the Orchestra 1 ensemble preset, set to 75%, passing through a Boss CE300 Super Chorus at 100% wet. The CE300 uses the same BBD circuit as the revered chorus of the Roland Juno 60. This sample set is always available with the other five presets to create anything from subtle blends to an absolute lush-fest.

Of course, not every rock star is in the position to hire the London Philharmonic to score their album; hence the rise of the string synth – which replaces dozens of individual players with dozens of detuned oscillators to approximate the same richness of result. String synths are one of our favourite musical machines – and Vintage Strings is a homage to them.
