THE CLASSIC STEINWAY A PIANO & BRAND NEW HYBRID SOUNDS
This Steinway C piano was hand picked by Elmer Bernstein (while composing the score for ‘My Left Foot’) from the Steinway factory in Hamburg. Word spread across the industry and it soon made a name for itself as an exceptional sounding piano. Nowadays, many artists will record at Windmill Lane specifically to use this piano. Artists who have performed on this piano include Elvis Costello, David Bowie, Van Morrison, R.E.M, Ben Folds, The Rolling Stones and Lady Gaga.
The magnificent Steinway D, recorded in a concerthall for the true concert grand experience. Three different perspectives, Close, Ambient and Medium Ambiance gives you tree different instruments to choose from. Incredible 48 samples/note cut’s this sampled instrument in a class of it’s own. The “Close” perspective was recorded with the microphones placed very close to the strings. Normally, this isn’t the way you would record a classical piece, but you will find that this perspective gives you a great presence and brilliance. Try this version for an in-your-face pop or jazz sound, or for bold and aggressive features. Definitely reach for this version first on a live performance. It has the raw edge needed to cut through a pounding rhythm section, or to back up a powerful vocalist. The more live your playing space, the more likely that the Close Perspective instrument will work for you.
This library has been finely tuned to work with Reason’s NN-XT Sampler. Also included are 14 combinator presets that combine the NN-XT instruments with the effects. This beautiful Steinway Model L Grand piano was recorded at Whip Records in Berkeley, California. Using Neumann U67 microphones and high quality preamps, multiple layers were recorded at 24-bit resolution. Each sample was reviewed, and the best were assembled to create the Platinum Grand. As a result of this process, the samples are perfectly matched, sound great, and are free of artifacts. This natural sounding piano will work in any track mix.
The Steinway Stabs! The project is from a Steinway and Sons 1910 Vertegrand Piano. As a family heirloom dating back to the 1960’s, we’ve now decided to put this incredible instrument out in it’s most pure form. Steinway pianos have a history of fine craftsmanship and resonance. This piano still has the ivory keytops and original strings. The Vertegrand is literally their model Grand piano flipped upright. This improves overall resonance and tone which sets it apart from other upright studio pianos. If you want authentic, real, and legendary piano samples in your arsenal, look no further!
Legacy series with the release of one of the most precious and sought after pianos in the history of pianos, namely a specific series of ivory covered Steinway grand that were produced in Germany in 1928. This particular series and era is known to be one of the best and the building quality still stands unmatched – even the strings are still original from 1928. It is the perfect piano for soundtrack composers, songwriters and people looking for an advanced emotional and resonant piano. In addition the instrument was recorded with two sets of microphones (close/internal) and (ambient/player), so users can adjust the sound to their liking ranging from recordings inside the piano to a natural player perspective.
