Dan Dean Solo Strings Advanced is an orchestral sample library featuring chromatically sampled Violin, Viola and Cello in both Solo and Ensemble configurations.Convolution – Timbral and Reverb. This is the first sampling product to employ “Timbral Impulse” technology, developed with Numerical Sound which allows you to match the DDSSA’s sound to a captured snapshot of a different string section or solo instrument. Also by Numerical Sound, a custom created library of Reverb Impulses custom designed for use only with the DDSSA.
The Virtuoso Series Solo String Library is designed to be an extremely flexible multi-sample collection containing over 500 instruments! The focus is on single, multi-sample notes rather than “riffs” or “phrases”, though some popular arpeggios and scales are included in the solo violin. Most of the articulations are 8 velocity layers deep, and sometimes, as many as 32. With this approach, it’s easy to avoid the “machine gun” or “robotic” curse of most sample libraries when trying to play fast repeated notes. In addition, to maximize the realistic sound of this type of music, release triggers are also used extensively to enable you to play all kinds of repeated notes in all kinds of tempos.
The newest and largest of all Kirk Hunter Studios’ solo strings packages gives you 4 new solo sections which include 1st and 2nd chair (excluding solo bass). Coupled with innovative and progressive TVEC 3 programming, you will not find a more flexible and playable solo string library! One very nice feature is the way TVEC 3 handles the slides for Solo Strings 2. When you play a note, followed by another note you want to slide into (up or down), TVEC 3 knows whether to slide a lot or just a nudge. Also, the vibrato of the slide is now variable. With these the new solo strings, you can get all kinds of emotional solo playing styles, such as Country Western, or flat-out classical! Musical expression was key in recording these new sections. You’ll be able to get lush rich vibratos, lighter vibratos (for violins and violas), and austere and “creepy” non-vibratos.
