Fusion Field is a smooth reverb that sits beautifully in a mix. It’s clean, unobtrusive sound has a natural falloff that floats behind, and complements the source material perfectly. Fusion Field is very easy to use, and the main display shows the effects of the dampening and EQ in a plain natural way. The reverberation can be dampened in the upper and lower frequencies, allowing soft sibilance and a graceful, lifting air to the sound. Having very few controls does not hinder Fusion Field’s usefulness. The dial ranges have been sloped to give the best sensitivity in useful regions, and the whole unit can create short snappy rooms, or vast time-suspended spaces, and anything in between.

With a specialized reverberation algorithm at its heart and 3 tunable voices with feedback control for added flexibility. Thanks to its carefully designed Feedback, Size, and Diffusion controls, Irid’s reverberation processor is remarkably versatile. It can do anything from grainy delay-like effects to rich and lush sounding spaces. The 3 tunable voices – generated from the reverberated signal itself with two pitch shifters and a frequency shifter – allow for marvelous shimmer effects and beautiful harmonic textures, as well as dissonant and dark ambiances. Each voice features an output level control and a ‘reverse’ option for expanding the timbral possibilities by time-reversing the sound grains. The R2 reverb plug-in is a reverb with attitude. In many ways, it harkens back to classic reverbs of the 80’s and 90’s. The reverb tail is fat and full of movement. The chorus controls can even add subtle (or unsubtle) pitch effects. Whether it’s a choir or a power ballad, R2 adds a rich character to the mix. But it doesn’t end there. Like its little brother PhoenixVerb, R2 can also create rooms and plates of its own. The gate control has found special applications as an auto-ducker for dialog mixers or even for traditional mixes keeping the reverb under control. R2 is a traditional reverb with a modern attitude. R2 has also been designed with ease of use as a primary concern. The most important parameters are always available, and a richer set of controls are available only a click away.
