    Get heated overdrive with added life and movement – choose from six types of distortion, shape your signal with filtering and gain, and modulate the results with custom-drawn LFO shapes. Select from six modelled distortion algorithms: Tube, Digital, Diode, Linear Fold, Zero Sq and Rectify, each with a different personality for adding grit and dirt to audio. Use the Drive control to push the signal harder, and use the Destroy parameter to fully smash up any audio. There are high- and low-pass filters onboard, as well as a Dark/Bright slider to weight the distortion’s energy. Animate your distortion in Ravage’s Movement panel, which lets you assign modulators to one of eight destinations including Drive and Pan. With draw-your-own modulator shapes, you can customize an LFO’s movement using nodes and curves to whip up customised patterns. To take your modulation further, Ravage offers playhead reversal, waveform smoothing and pulse width manipulation.

    We love pluck sounds…who doesn’t, but often when you start layering different sounds, you find yourself at the bottom of the rabbit hole with the laborious task of going into each synth and tweaking the envelopes to make each sound cohesive. As the KARA is an audio processor and receives no midi information, the first task was to find a way to trigger the cutoff envelope in a stable way. We achieved this by creating an RMS trigger that works much like a compressor, so when the signal hits the user definable threshold, which is set using the Sens parameter, the envelope and filter are triggered creating the pluck sound.

    From Mono To Stereo & LCR

    The Mono Upmix can generate Stereo and even LCR channels from any mono signal and works great on voices in Post Production, synth in music production, as well as bass, guitars, drum room mics, vocals, etc. It adaptively extracts the diffuse sound in the mono input signal to create an upmix signal. As the diffuse sound should always be reproduced decorrelated on different stereo channels, the up-mixed signal sounds more natural than the original mono track. The Mono Upmix is often superior to a reverb as it doesn’t add reverb but uses the present diffuse sound. Furthermore, it’s possible to control the perceived source distance and panning position by generating early reflections. The Mono Upmix plugin performs great with mono location sound dialogue as well as spot microphones in a music recording.
