This piece is based on a genuine vintage EMI microphone amplifier section that I managed to track down. A custom made and modified unit optimised for modern recording, it has a 50 Ohm /200 Ohm preamp section and a DI/Line level input. Making your audio full,warm and with a subdued high end to cure harsh highs if you’re looking for something really close to the EMI REDD 47 preamps/ amplifiers, then this may help you get a little closer. The magic is in the transformers. Pair this with Waves REDD plugin to get close to the mojo of the real unit – errr perhaps. Either way, you will love what it does to your audio – especially vocals.
