The Cimbalom is a beautiful hammered dulcimer instrument, popular in central-eastern European cultures. Comprised of metallic strings stretched across a wooden chamber, it is played by striking beaters against the strings. Performed by renowned Cimbalomist Gregory Knowles and recorded in stunning detail by Noiiz engineers using AKG 414’s and a Schoeps Sphere, we’ve captured each note with multiple velocity layers to provide a true and natural tone.

Taishogoto harp is a unique Japanese stringed instrument where typewriter keys are used to change pitch. Recorded in high fidelity by the Noiiz team, the Taishogoto is ready to use in your projects to help create ethnic melodies and accompaniments. The Taishogoto provided Japan with more affordable access to the western 12 tone chromatic scale in the early 1900’s, and went on to inspire the creation of many other instruments throughout the world. 4 main strings are all tuned to the same note in varying octaves and are joined by one ‘drone’ string, normally tuned to the appropriate scale. We’ve fully sampled 1 octave of the drone string to provide versatility so you can choose which notes to accompany your melodies, as well as 3 full octaves of the 4 main strings.

‘Singing Bells’ is a beautiful set of aluminium bells recorded with both hard and soft mallets. Both presets provide a unique sound, similar to a church bell or Tibetan bowl. Create eerie and mythical melodies, or try adding the reverb and delay effects to help craft enchanting landscapes. Recorded at Temple Studio in London, we took no liberties in capturing the extraordinary sound of this instrument. Played with extreme precision by percussionist Sara Loewenthal, multiple velocities and layers were recorded in exceptional detail.

Mbira is a unique collection of thumb pianos made up of 5 presets all ready to drop into the Noiiz Player. An instrument of African origin, the Mbira consists of a wooden board with attached metal tines. Played with thumbs, this provides a bright and pure metallic tone. Recorded in pristine detail at Nave Studios and utilising Andy Wilsons large collection of Mbiras, we recorded combinations of these wonderful instruments in different tunings to capture as many notes as possible. All Mbiras were carefully recorded with matched, stereo pairs of Neumann KM183’s and U87’s to ensure we were faithful to the original sound.

The Sonoris DDP Player is a standalone cross-platform application that imports DDP 2.00 images and Cue Sheet (cue) files for playback or creating RedBook compatible audio CD’s.
The DDP Player can import (loadback) a DDP 2.00 fileset made by any software, like Bias Peak Studio (XT), Sonic Studio HD, SADiE, Sequoia or Pyramix. You can playback tracks, audition gaps, see all PQ codes, ISRC, MCN and CD-Text data. Another feature is the Check Project function that tests the imported project against a set of RedBook specification rules.
