The debut collection from Sounds Good pays tribute to that classic house piano sound that we all know and love. This uplifting pack contains 98 authentic loops in industry standard wav format, each with tempo and key information included, ready for you to drop into your productions. There are also several glitched out and mashed up FX versions, a perfect sonic ingredient for more wonky styles. The piano loops were recorded using Korg’s legendary M1 synthesizer, (‘the’ quintessential classic piano sound heard on all those tracks) and mastered using high end Apogee converters and Pro Tools TDM for crystal clear sound quality.
In our constant pursuit to push the sonic and rhythmic boundaries of loops, we’re excited to announce the release of Everything But Sticks Vol 2. As the name suggests, this collection of grooves and samples was recorded using everything BUT drumsticks, utilizing items like mallets, brushes, spatulas, rods and yes, even goat hooves, resulting in a truly organic and unique soundscape of rhythm. Let’s be honest. 99% of the drum loops in existence use sticks. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but isn’t it time to do something different? This is why we set out to produce Everything But Sticks, a collection of loops and samples that take a new and fresh approach to grooves on the drum set. By using a wide variety of brushes, mallets, bundles, kitchen utensils and even our bare hands, we were able to pull out an entire range of timbres and dynamics from the drum kit that sticks simply can’t produce.
From the depths of the Mississippi Delta, to the shuffles of Texas, Blues Drums Volume 1 is the most extensive and authentic collection of blues drum loops and samples ever produced.
Drawing on inspiration from blues greats like Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Albert King, John Lee Hooker and B.B. King, we crafted six complete sessions featuring hundreds of loops ranging from slow 12/8 backbeats, swinging shuffles, dynamic brush grooves to driving, straight-eighth feels. Each session contains dozens of groove variations, fills, and transitions, allowing you to easily build a custom drum track in seconds. We also meticulously sampled every drum and cymbal on a multitude of kits (Ludwig, Gretsch and Slingerland), giving you incredible flexibility for layering and designing your own brush-based grooves.
So many of us have rough recordings or bare bones song ideas just sitting on our hard drives, waiting to be finished… This course provides strategies for completing those tracks and releasing them to the world. It’s based on industry pro Evan Sutton’s own workflow for being a more productive, prolific music producer. Evan starts with the music production tools that can make it easier to see a song through to completion, such as templates, presets, and foolproof hardware setups. Next, he gets into the heavy lifting, mixing both songwriting and production techniques with tips for dealing with the psychological factors that may trip you up when completing a song. He wraps up the course with techniques that help to clear the final steps of song completion, including building transitions, adding ear candy, mixing strategies for increased efficiency, and simple mastering techniques, whether you choose to master your tracks yourself or hire a professional.
