Palindrome is a granular sampler geared toward experimental sound design. The basic concept behind Palindrome is to fuse four granular samplers with a coordinate plotting grid and complex modulation sources in order to facilitate the creation of morphing sound effects and unusual instrument patches. The plugin’s main grid section facilitates the creation of custom paths that determine the trajectory of a playhead over time. This playhead travels across a user-definable path that corresponds with the outputs of the samplers which are smoothly morphed using a bilinear interpolation algorithm. Palindrome also features 8 user-definable multi-breakpoint modulation envelopes to facilitate the creation of intricate modulation shapes. With its 4 granular samplers, morph-plotting system, 8 multi-breakpoint modulation envelopes, dual effects processors per sampler, shape presets, 4-note polyphony, deep randomization system, global reverb, 1.5GB sample library and numerous factory presets, Palindrome brings sound designers a powerful new sound sculpting tool.

If there was a time when the bass truly stepped out of the shadow of the drums and took center stage, it was during the golden days of disco. Even though the jumpsuits, platform shoes and flared pants may be a thing of that 1970s era, disco has never been more now than it was back then. It may have taken on more of a pop suit, but listen to the likes of Dua Lipa, Daft Punk or Bruno Mars and you’ll hear it. In the forefront of that sound is a classic bass belting out a juicy double-note-infused and octave-ridden disco groove. For this EBX, we went out of our way to find the ultimate instrument that could bridge that gap between classic and modern – one that had all the vintage traits but also enough girth to stand its ground in a modern pop production. We found it. At that, it’s not just any bass, it’s one of the 356 ever built Hagström* Super Swedes. Co-designed by the late Rutger Gunnarsson of ABBA fame, this is a bona fide disco bass icon just like the very man who once played it.

We’ve sampled a handful of top woodwind players at the Teatro delle Voci in Treviso. This is the third volume of our woodwind series: Francesco Lovecchio: Solo Oboe. Francesco Lovecchio is a skilled performer and he’s first oboe in many renowned musical projects in Italy and Europe. The Solo Oboe features more than two octave and a half range, 3 dynamic layers for sustained articulations, 3 true legato articulations (tongued legato, legato espressivo and legato immediate vibrato), 4 Round Robins for staccato. We provide you the ability to create your unique sound by mixing the 3 microphones positions (Close, Mid and Far). The script features our Articulations Editor which allows to precisely control each of the articulations included and create your own ones. The sampling was made with top quality gear: Schoeps microphones, Neve and Millennia Media preamps.
