Disco House Sessions takes you back to how we used to do it, recreating the sounds and flavours from seminal party places such as the Paradise Garage and Studio 54, where classic DJ`s like Larry Levan would play forgotten classics that now top the charts in remixed form and which fill our cities finest dancefloors! From the 1970s we bring you all the way back to the present day with slamming house grooves that will shake the dance-floor back to its disco roots. We took an exhaustive and affectionate look back at the forgotten sounds of labels like Salsoul, and artists like Alfredo, Dan Hartman, First Choice, Loletta Holloway, and all the wonderful disco producers that existed during that golden era, and recreated the sound to put these awesome disco samples at your fingertips.

The German Spinet 1767 library features one of the few preserved original German spinets; a beautiful sounding instrument by Johann Heinrich Silbermann. The instrument was built in Strasbourg in 1767 and features a bell-like treble response with clear impulse response and a full-bodied sound. Residing at the Germanische Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg, the harpsichord remains in great playable condition. Just like harpsichords, the instrument is not touch-sensitive like a piano. However, even if the differences are minuscule, not any given note will sound the same twice due to different resonances of body and strings. When repeatedly playing a note (e.g. playing trills), triggering off the exact same sample will create a sterile and unpleasant impression. Therefore, we captured every note with 8 variations. The sounds of the key releases are also of major importance for a thorough impression of the instrument. Those were recorded with 4 release samples per note.

‘1974’ from ‘The Sound of Merlin’ is an instrumental Progressive Jazz Rock Sample Pack which could have been recorded in the 1970s. In this era, Jazz musicians mingled with Progressive Rock musicians and developed a new style which was strongly inspired by the improvisational freedom of Jazz musicians of that time. Bands like Mahavishnu Orchestra, Colosseum and Brand X on the Jazz Rock front, as well as iconic Progressive Rock acts such as Yes, King Crimson, Pink Floyd and Utopia, can be all reminisced throughout this soaring collection. The year of 1974 was chosen for this title as this pack is strongly old-school keyboard-orientated music, featuring keyboard solos and lead parts recorded live with the likes of Rhodes, Hammond organs and monophonic synths of the time. In 1975 Moog introduced their Polymoog, which was soon followed by the OB4, the CS80, the Prophet 5 and the Jupiter 6.

Each Kit contains three folders, Drums, MIDI and Presets plus the mixdown demo. The drums folder consists of a Kick Compressed and not Compressed, several Percussion Loops are belonging to that Kit. The MIDI and Presets folders contain all the MIDI information and Preset files. For the VST instruments used in this pack please use the currently available version. Please note, if you do not own any of the above VST Instruments, you can still use any virtual instrument of your choice with your own presets to assign the VST instrument to the MIDI files and create your own sound.
