Modern Pop is a passionate and inspiring sound journey that combines the distinctive style of modern electronic music with different types of pop music, lounge, chillout and new age. The characteristic features of this extraordinary library are based on its rhythmic elements, such as percussion loops, drum loops and special grooves, as well as in its harmonic elements, such as melodies and chords which are at times soft and gentle, at other times dynamic and powerful. In addition to the loops, percussion, brass, electric bass, guitar and piano sounds from live recordings, this unique collection contains a great variety of synthetically compilated loops, such as synth basses, moog sounds, synths, leads, pads, bells, filtered sounds and modulated sounds. These were all created with the most modern technology in a high quality studio setting.

DRAG. DROP. POP!

Piano and keyboard MIDI for modern, anthemic pop songs.

Although it sometimes may be amid layers of other instrumentation, tweaked or distorted almost beyond recognition, there is no denying that the piano still has a prominent role in contemporary pop. Listen to anthemic songs by the likes of Ariana Grande, Kygo, Coldplay or P!nk and you can easily pick it out as the dominant melodic vehicle. And given the flexibility and endless sonic application of MIDI, switch the piano for another instrument and the feel changes in an instant. This is where the Modern Pop EZkeys MIDI pack comes in. It was designed to give you a broad baseline of chord progressions and melodic structures to spark your next batch of keys-driven, contemporary modern pop songs. And, again, don’t feel constrained to using the MIDI for only piano. Modern pop is a borderless and ever-changing sonic landscape where literally no rules apply. Start writing!

THE POP CHOP SHOP.

Drum grooves for all walks of modern pop, ideal for any songwriter. Pop as a cultural music phenomenon is broader than ever before. In its vast landscape, the already blurred lines between the styles it encompasses are constantly thrusted to the side to make room for new iterations. As a foundational component in any genre, drums in particular are often in the forefront of this experimental and ever-changing panorama. Sometimes all-digital or all-acoustic, other times hybrids of both or somewhere floating in between. Production values, one may argue. But fact remains, the groove is the heartbeat of any song. To Norman’s point, MIDI offers a bottomless well of creative options. Apply an acoustic kit to it and you get one feel – change it up with an electronic kit or any other sounds at your disposal and you end up with something completely different. Mix, match, change and rearrange – with the limitless framework of EZdrummer 2 or Superior Drummer 3, only your imagination sets the limits.

THE END OF YOUR SHUFFLE TROUBLE.

A broad palette of shuffled drum grooves for anything from classic rock to modern pop. There’s something about those swung eighth and sixteenth notes – not only theoretically, but physically. The moment you nudge those seemingly insignificant notes back, you instantly get a completely different feel and rhythm. Playing shuffled grooves, on the other hand, is far from simply backing off on notes – it’s a subtile art of timing and finesse. Listen to greats like Bernard Purdie, Jeff Porcaro and Steve Jordan, who all have immortalized and reinvented the shuffled groove in numerous timeless songs, and you’ll hear it. The Shuffled Backbeats MIDI pack comes with a comprehensive collection of MIDI inspired by classic songs spanning several genres, all with that distinct swing feel. Expect the unmistakable blues-tinged rock backbeats, the ghost note-ridden AOR grooves as well as a host of laid-back variations, perfect for any ballad or soul track. This is the ultimate broad-stroke palette of grooves for use in any creative context – from classic rock to modern pop.
