In this series, Larry takes you through the process of solving various trouble spots, enhancing sounds, applying processing, and more using the various components of Neutron 5, sharing many tips along the way and helping you achieve pro-sounding mixes quicker than ever before. These videos are designed for new Neutron 5 users. Larry begins by introducing the series and briefly discusses what all will be covered in the course, so you’ll know exactly what to expect. Then it’s down to business, starting with a layered kick drum example in which you’ll see how to tackle a phase issue with Neutron 5’s Phase module. Then Larry shows how to create front/back perspective using stereo bus compression and carve out space for the lead vocal with the Unmask module. Next up, Larry explores the subjects of transients, demonstrating how to increase a track’s punch, followed by the use of gating to clean up headphone bleed on a vocal. You’ll then see how to affect stereo width and shape transients in mid/side mode, which helps create separation between different instruments and effects in the mix.
