A few years ago I recorded an album called “The Narrow Passage”. As part of that project I recorded a few dozen one-shots from my MS20 Mini, which I’ve zipped here for you to use in your own project. Any processing is minimal—I tend to process in the context of the song and leave the raw samples as they are. This download includes 87 one-shots organized into 4 folders – cymbal, kick, snare, and hat. Enjoy!

Battle of the Mini Synths, a Kontakt instrument featuring the sounds of a collection of portable synths and toy keyboards. Collection a number of mini synths over the years. He loves the unique sound of them, but using the synths in the studio can be unpractical for various reasons. Since I really wanted to use these sounds in a more efficient way in the studio, I started 6 years ago to sample them in great detail and recreate some favourite patches in Kontakt. I recently acquired a couple of new mini synths, and designed a practical Kontakt skin with presets and effects that could be used for all these keyboards.

As you turn up the gains you will experience harmonically rich compression, akin to that of Marshall® amps. The tone stack in Mini Cracked Glass is based on the classic tone stacks found in vintage Marshall® amps.
MiniLooper is a on-the-fly looper effect : it takes the signal input, loop a section of the sound (from 1/32 BAR up to 1 BAR) in sync with the DAW/host tempo. The MiniLooper is the little brother of InstaLooper3, with a simpler appoach and a even more effective handle. All effects have a single parameter to be automated (except reverse and time expand). The goal is to make loop fx / glitch fx in real time without the hassle of editing in your DAW : just set to “on” and turn the knobs to change loop size / fx amount. Resizable UI.
GSi Mini Orchestra is a sample-playback synthesizer based on a selection of high quality stereo samples with long loops, that helps reproducing the sound of a symphonic orchestra easily and quickly. It offers 9 sections including: bass brasses (tubas, trombones), cellos and contrabass, french horns, woodwinds (flutes, oboe, fagotto), treble brasses (trumpets and trombones), treble strings (violins, violas), choirs, glockenspiel and percussions (timpani and cymbals). Each section can be programmed independently to have a given response to velocity, expression pedal, aftertouch, and velocity zone. The “aftertouch lag” parameter lets you adjust the response to the aftertouch messages in order to obtain smooth dynamic transitions.
