    Hammr+ is one part of the Hammr Suite a classic tonewheel organ sample set developed with Oasis/Sheryl Crow keyboard player Mikey Rowe and recorded by genius Andy Britton at the very lovely Toyroom Studios here in Brighton. You’d be right in thinking that he last thing the world needs is another Hammond clone, and I would be the first to agree, but the Hammr+ is a little different. Of course she oozes classic character and has all the capabilities you’d expect of a tonewheel organ, but in true Sound Dust style this thing moves way past the limitations of the original. By taking advantage of sampling technology, bespoke Kontakt architecture and a little bit of imagination Hammr+ can do things that were inconceivable in the original 1959 instrument .

    Welcome to our new Claire Virtuoso Woodwind series produced by Emmy Nominated Composer, Colin O’Malley. The Claire Woodwind Series is a deep-sampled collection of the finest virtuoso woodwind soloists ever sampled. These are highly playable instruments soared with true emotion, effortless and equilibristic behavior. Our Oboe Virtuoso is the most expressive, playable and lifelike oboe ever sampled. The Oboe Virtuoso was recorded in a symphonic hall and contains three microphone positions (Close, Decca, Wide). The core of the Oboe is its highly advanced legato system, which contains both lyrical and strong legato. The legato system allows you to play legato with passionate arcs and sustains. We recorded arcs with both light, medium and strong vibrato, so you can freely sculpt your performance from the subtle to vibrant. In addition we also added trills, runs, staccattissimo, marcato and even non-tonal effects like breaths, valve sounds and natural click noises etc.

    Polyphon hails from Switzerland, and is very much a true antique. We found it at a recording label auction, and rumor has it that when Dutch electronic manufacturer Philips® went into the world of music, (yes, they bought a few labels shortly after the 2nd world war, and sold them again in 1999, while producing a large volume of blank recordable CD’s), they acquired Polyphons as a “sign”, to be placed in each of their offices around the world. Our instrument came with a huge collection of discs, and given the age, it is actually in a pretty mint condition. As such, the instrument works with no velocity, as each hammer is played with the same level of pressure when the plectra hits the notes, but the notes do sound different all the time, as there is something truely anarchistic about the way the machine works. Even though it’s totally mechanic, each note responds differently every time it’s being touched, and we have aimed to reflect just that – creating the library.

    Wrenchenspiel is a custom instrument containing a large array of 31 deep-sampled wrenches, yup … wrenches!
    The wrenches were modified (carved) to be in perfect tune and we managed to get some of them to sustain their notes up to 10 seconds. The wrenches were played with everything from soft to hard mallets, muted variations, hammers, hotrods, modified metal objects, other wrenches, nails, drumsticks and we even ran electricity through the wrenches for extra punishment. The end-result is a highly versatile, tonal percussion instrument that can sound like anything from a Glockenspiel to Celeste, from traditional Rhodes to absolutely brutal mutilated music sound design. The Wrenchenspiel contains 18 different core articulations and over 1.200 samples. In addition the library also contains a step-based sequencer (aka Wrenchenquencer/arp), live-triggered FX (ex. Delay, Reverb, Screamer, Lofi, Rotator, Fuzz) and our dual convolution reverbs containing both sound designed and more traditional hall based impulses. Welcome to the wonderful, wild, wicked, world of Wrenchenspiel.

    Swimming all the way from Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Mexico to the San Francisco Bay, this unique & manually chiseled hanging metallic seahorse was spawned from carbon-infused sheet metal. Its vivid metallic colors were applied by firing mineral powders directly onto the solder. Seahorses hide in mangrove stands, coral reefs, and sea grass meadows where they remain camouflaged by deep brown and grey patterns, blending into the sea grass backgrounds.While seahorses turn vivid colors in surprising surroundings and social situations, this seahorse wiggled and squirmed until finally yielding its metal and bell-like resonances. Utilizing the fins, tail, and body brings bright harmonics nostalgic of banging on trash cans, delicate clinks, plunking kalimbas, and deep marimbas.
