Recorded at the world famous Abbey Road Studio Two in London, and mixed by our very own Tim Starnes, the Abbey Road Pianos library brings two of the record industry’s most iconic upright pianos — and the legendary studio where they reside — right to your fingertips.

This is a sample library project we’ve been wanting to complete for some time and I believe we have something really special here for you! This instrument has a distinct and unique voice. Now that it is available as a virtual instrument I have no doubt that it’s musical effectiveness can be greatly expanded beyond of solely creating a groovy 60s vibe. 3 independent sample sources were recorded – neck and bridge pickup samples as well as microphone samples. I had this guitar rewired so I could use a stereo jack and record the neck and bridge pickups simultaneously. The mic samples really make this sample library unique. They give this instrument a very animated top end with the result being a bit of a acoustic-electric hybrid, giving us a closer emulation of a real sitar. This sampling process coupled with creative and flexible KSP scripting by Bo Clausen will give you many creative opportunities.
The 1901 Upright Studio Piano is the most comprehensive deep-sampled Upright ever created. Recorded and processed at 24-Bit / 96Khz at our famous British Studio through a large custom NEVE desk. The 1901 Upright Studio Piano contains both standard and prepared articulations. All standard sustain samples were recorded with both pedal up, pedal down and half pedal positions. In addition we also added staccatissimo (w/ round robin) for fast playing styles and our gorgeous Una Corta (Soft Pedal) articulation, which has to be the warmest- and softest piano articulation ever recorded.
The bar on drum plugins has just been raised. Introducing the all new Drum Direktor “From The Garage”. Completely redesigned (leveraging the newly expanded user interface for Kontakt), Drum Direktor brings together sampling, looping and step sequencing together in a drum instrument unlike anything else. To produce the sounds and loops featured in this latest version of Drum Direktor, we literally opened the doors to our garage and recorded everything in sight. We sampled the sound of motor oil. We drummed on tricycles. We banged on paint cans with actual paint brushes. We drove our neighbors nuts. The result? Probably the most interesting collection of grooves and sounds we’ve ever produced.

“The Lucky Harp” is a meticulously recorded, and incredibly deeply sampled Celtic Harp instrument. Offering 6 Velocities Layers, and 6 Round Robins giving 36 unique samples per string. The particular instrument that we sampled was a 26 string Diatonic Celtic Harp in the key of C. Our goal was to offer something incredibly deep and extremely expressive, and we are very pleased with this latest offering. Recorded through a Royer 121, and run through crystal clean preamps and pristine conversion, The result is something truly dark & beautiful. We opted for a “dry” sound with minimal ambience, and have included a custom IR that suits the instrument well. Offering control over attack & release, reverb, and a gentle boost/cut at 12k, We have no doubts that this instrument will make its way to the top of your ‘go to’ harp choices. Suitable for solo pieces, & or within a full track, this instrument will be sure to inspire!
