Vintage Strings is a virtual instrument for Kontakt 5 designed to emulate the classic violin string section sounds of R&B, Soul, and Funk records from the 1960’s and 1970’s. Whether you’re an experienced arranger or casual producer, Vintage Strings was designed to make it quick and easy for you to create great sounding string tracks for your productions. Like its sister product, Vintage Horns, Vintage Strings was not designed to be a shiny, perfect sounding virtual instrument. Instead, we tried to capture the way string sections sounded back in the ’60s and ’70s; including the decidedly not classical playing style and minor imperfections that added character to those sections and made them sound so good. For Vintage Strings we recorded a 6 piece violin section using vintage Neuman U-87 mics and Royer ribbon mics run through a great sounding SSL board. To capture a true vintage string sound, we used close mics, room mics, and string section positioning based on actual session notes from old Motown and Philly Soul recording sessions. Rather than record the violins in a magnificent concert hall or some other large and resonant recording space, we recorded our players in a funky old studio with a smaller, less-reverberant room that had characteristics similar to the rooms used to record classic Soul and R&B records.

The Bamboo Xaxophone is a sort of odd saxophone obtained out of… bamboo! Originally built in Hawai, the bamboo sax is a chromatic single reed instruments that looks like a Duduk or a straight Chinese flute. Its mellow and warm tone could be mistaken as an intriguing mix of clarinet and saxophone, whereas in the upper range the bamboo saxophone emerges for its strong but balanced shrill timbre. For the occasion we thought that “Xaxophone” could be the right name to distinguish it from its metallic relative!

The THEREMIN+ is an advanced library based on the classic sound and feel of the legendary Theremin, but with a huge twist and a wealth of additional sound-designed pads, leads, ambiences and atmospheres. Our Theremin+ behaves as close to a Theremin as you can get on a keyboard, smoothly gliding between monophonic notes with variable speed. The Glide knob allows you to adjust the speed of the glide between notes and when set to 0, turns this otherwise monophonic instrument into a full polyphonic sound creator! The Theremin+ includes a number of real Theremin samples, generated tones, and a plethora of carefully crafted sounds, designed from a wide array of sources.

Paradox Lost Redux is a unique instrument based on strange, beautiful, and bizarre soundscapes, drones and “simple” tones. At times the sounds capture a fitting, paradoxical cross between evolving and static, beautiful and dirty, dark and light. Some sounds will seem familiar but foreign, like an old synth you once knew but can’t place. Through the sound sources, we’ve also sculpted a wide range of sounds, including plucks, guitar like sounds, organ like sounds, piano and harp like sounds – which are in addition to the already beautiful and compelling drones and soundscapes.

Granulate is a powerful granular synthesis engine for Kontakt 5, which allows any audio file to be processed in a variety of ways, to create lush pads, rich granular textures and punchy rhythmic synths. Use the built-in presets, or use your own audio by loading a sample into Kontakt’s mapping editor. With its included library of over 50 inspiring presets, Granulate has plenty of content ready to use, out of the box. However, Granulate is designed to be a flexible and expandable tool for easily creating your own custom sounds. The presets are mainly included for inspiration, and only cover a fraction of Granulate’s sonic possibilities. You are encouraged to import your own audio files, to create sounds that are truly yours! Because Granulate runs inside Kontakt, it has the benefit of being able to load NCW files (a proprietary audio format used by many commercial sample libraries). This means you can import and process sounds from other sample libraries you own, extending your sonic palette even further.
