Sonespheres is a series of uniquely sound-designed atmospheric synths, textural pads, evolving soundscapes, nuanced drones and tonal ambiences for Kontakt. Each volume explores film and tv composer and long-time collaborator Blake Ewing’s unique creative vision, delving into deeper aesthetics, stylized niches and specialty production concepts. This volume was crafted using lush symphonic woodwind recordings, with a full array of essential user controls to unlock virtually limitless creative potential. Blake brings to his craft a brilliant ear for nuanced layering, rich detail, fluid textures and powerful emotional weight. Blake is an American composer with a concentrated interest in creating music for visual media. His compositions have been commissioned, licensed and well received by film directors, producers, videographers, sample developers, advertising firms, music supervisors and fans from around the world. He believes in music – and in its wonderful power to support and elevate storytelling.

The Philicorda is a 1960s transistor based organ that has found favour with producers in recent times ; one was used on the album ’19’ by Adele by producer Jim Abiss. This particular Philicorda belongs to producer Liam Howe, and has been used on records by Marina and the Diamonds, Ellie Goulding, and Cocknbullkid. The instrument has a built in spring reverb, vibrato and 5 switchable stops. There is also an extra ‘voxchord’ setting, which splits the lower half of the keyboard into single-key chords, for left hand accompaniment. It has a thick, smooth sound that can give just the right atmosphere to certain productions.
