The library is based on 11 trombone samples with tempo and key information. Each phrase is usually between 1 and 4 bars long. All phrases are played on the same harmony pattern and can be easily combined with each other. This makes it easy to create a complete song arrangement. The genre ranges from pop, jazz and blues to rock. The sounds feel organic and the samples are perfect to loop.
Long ago, spurred by the lack of high-quality jazz drum samples, we recorded a jazz/funk drumset. It’s a relatively small kit–a kick, snare, two toms, and two cymbals–just like something a jazz drummer would play at a gig or low-key recording session. Skilled jazz drummers can make a single drum or cymbal sound very expressive, evoking a lot of character and personality with each hit. That was our exact approach when sampling this drumset, concentrating on fewer but higher quality kit pieces.
