These synth sounds were designed with the new and innovative C15 Synthesizer from Nonlinear Labs – phase modulation on a new level. All processed versions were designed with several hardware devices like Chandler Curve Bender & Zener, Rockrüpel, Vertigo Sound EQ, secret software reverb weapons and other devices you might recognize in the sample names.
This Sample pack was created by Keita Ogawa, a Grammy Award winning percussionist/Drummer who is working with some of the worlds Top artist like Yo-yo ma, Snarky Puppy and many more. This pack is about Unique Textures that you can use into various type of musical situations. These Textures include various types of Metallic, Wood, Glass, Nature Shells, Bird Whistles, Unique percussion instrument that are unique and rare.
Halfway between percussion and melodic instrument sits these glass hand drums. Sonically they are reminiscent of hand drums and halo drums. To capture beauty and quirky nature of these instruments 5x round robins and 3 velocity layers were utilised. What you hear is the sound of the drums being patted, clapped and slapped to unearth their haunting tones. A sound design patch also comes with the instrument, which produces a pad-like sound that would probably work well in a horror movie.

Two wine glasses were used in making of this library – the bigger and the smaller one. I have found these at my mom´s home sitting there on a shelf, probably waiting for someone to capture their soft, bellish, winterly voices. No wine to pour in, so I have tapped them with my fingertips, knuckles and also a wooden stick to obtain samples of different colors and intensity. The result were several sample sets for building wide offer of wine glass sound kits. Some kits contained more (up to 7 x round robin) samples, some 2 or 3 dynamics layers. Some were made just from one beautiful sample. That of course was just the beginning of the creative process that went into further sound designing, so next to the basic, essential samples, you will find also a lot of samples derived from basic ones here, effected outside of Kontakt to offer you a lot more, utilizing the wide potential of magical, calming, dreamy glassy sounds.
Glass Viper is a synthesizer with unique waveform shaping, that has a deep and natural sense of movement. Going beyond analogue simulation, into a truly organic sound, from simple old synths to grungy filthy basses, or delicate pianos to strange unnatural film effects.
Glass Beach, about 150 miles outside San Francisco, CA, is all that’s left of a former garbage dump. For decades, the townspeople brought their household and industrial trash to the sea, dumping into towering piles rising above the surf. We spoke to a lifelong resident, who told us the heaps grew to over 30 feet high, before “The Dumps” were finally shut down in 1967. After numerous clean-up efforts, all of the refuse was removed, save for the tons of broken glass shards that were too small and far to plentiful to remove. It can now be found in MacKerricher State Park, running along the beach, by an old abandoned saw mill complex.
