    If you’re curious about how to use new layered sample VI based on guitars and stringed instruments from around the world, well, fret no more. Veteran Groove3 instructor Larry Holcombe will guide you step-by-step through Kithara, teaching you how to adjust all the parameters and utilize all the features to quickly create evocative and inspiring sounds. Whether you want to create ambient, evolving landscapes for a film/TV score or dress up that beat with some unconventional sounds, it’s all here. These Kithara videos are designed for new users. Larry begins with a brief overview of the plug-in, so you can understand its basic architecture, followed by a tour of the interface to help you get your bearings. He then moves on to the Main and Layers pages, where you’ll spend most of your time. You’ll learn how to select different samples for the four different layers (Attack, Sustain 1, Sustain 2, and Release), blend them in different amounts, edit the amp envelopes, and more. Next, Larry covers the Fragments page, where you can create randomized “fragment” fluttering effects to complement the fundamental layers and tickle the ears in unpredictable ways. Then, you’ll explore the FX page, where you’ll get access to spatial and other granular effects to further decorate your sounds. Other topics include the Settings page (for global controls, etc.), modulating your sound (using the mod wheel to add movement and life to patches), the source browser (for organizing sounds), and more.

With plenty of smart features like stem separation, harmony/tempo matching, transition editing, mastering, and more, this app can do it all and quickly! These DJ.Studio videos are for new DJ.Studio users. To begin, Larry welcomes you and gives a brief overview of DJ.Studio, explaining what it is and what it can do, and follows with a quick tour of the interface so you can see how everything is laid out. Then you’ll jump right in and create your first mix, learning how to import different types of audio files, access the local library, and use the Harmonize feature to sequence the mix in various ways. You’ll also see how to use the Match icons as well as the Mood and Fuzzy modes. Next, you’ll move on to the Studio page, where you can edit the transitions automatically created by DJ.Studio. You also have access to the mixer, timeline editor, and beat markers here, and you can add other various effects as well. Larry then covers the Transitions tab, which gives us precise control over our transitions, including the length, type of crossfade, etc., and offers the ability to save presets.
