Then it’s on to drums, where you’ll learn how to create a killer-sounding drum foundation by enhancing the sounds and/or triggering/layering samples while still retaining a human feel. Guitars and bass follow, and Alberto takes you all the way from raw DI tracks to phenomenal-sounding full tones using a few surprises along the way. Next, you’ll explore the idea of setting up a virtual analog console, which is an excellent workflow in this style, as it can provide some useful limitations and add an interesting sonic character to the proceedings. The rest of the course will continue to cover other important topics, such as the mix bus (adding processing to help glue the tracks, etc.), parallel compression on the drums (for added energy and vibe), and vocals (providing space and clarity among the instrumental track).
