Invented in the late 60s and early 70s by pioneers such as “King Tubby”, Lee “Scratch” Perry, and Errol Thompson, Dub is a trippy style of music that makes great use of effects and studio trickery. This sub-genre of Reggae is the root of all remixing and has influenced many contemporary genres of electronic music, like Pop, EDM, Hip Hop, Drum and bass, Dubstep, and so on. In this course, Ableton certified trainer DJ Kiva reveals the secret ingredients of Dub and shows you how to incorporate them in your own music. First, you learn about the history of Dub music, from its original root in Jamaica to the digital Dub movement and other musical styles that were greatly influenced by Dub. You discover each and every elements of a Dub track, and you learn how they all fit together. Along the way, you get insights from world-class musicians. You learn how to lay the foundation of a Dub track by playin the one-drop beat, and you learn to program it in Ableton Live. You learn techniques to play and record percussion, bass lines, the guitar skank, piano bang, organ bubble, and horns using both electronic instruments and live instruments (for that organic touch). I made these patches to work predominantly with Drum & Bass, Bass House, Dubstep and Funk, but I’m sure they will come in handy no matter what style you’re making. These are tried and tested sounds I have used in my own productions over the years, and now they can be yours! The pack also includes a few bonus patches, including a snare maker, a basic riser patch and more. I put a lot of work into these sounds, I’m really excited to share them with you guys!
