He’ll focus on drum sounds, demonstrating his techniques for layering kick and snare samples, compressing the sounds, using drum loops, adding a human feel and groove, creating drum transitions, using FX and automation, and other drum mixing techniques. This course features Ableton Live and Battery drum sampler, but you can use these techniques in any DAW of your choice.

Typical from Brazil, World Cup anyone? :) 10 articulations: surdo 22″, 20″ and 18″, snare, timba, repenique, tamborin, rocar, agogo and whistle. All with 4 velocity layers and 6 round robin. Ensemble (3 players) and Solo versions of each articulation, 2 microphone positions (close and far binaural), reverb with 8 impulse responses, multioutput and mixer with voluem, pan and tune controls for each articulation. 16 tempo synced loops with half/double speed controls. Full version of Kontakt 4.2.4 or above required. Kontakt Player will run in demo mode.
DSP-1 is a high performance dynamic signal processor specifically designed to process drum tracks. DSP-1 can be used as an insert effect on single drum channels (bass drum, snare drum, overheads, etc.) or to process the entire drum bus. The aim of this effect is to increase the perceived level of the processed audio without introduce too much color or artifacts and, above all, avoiding distortion. With DSP-1 it’s very easy to maximize the audio level of your drum track without make it sound over compressed or distorted.
