    While Adventure Brass lends itself to bold lines in traditional settings, Trailer Brass was produced with more modern, over-sized contexts in mind. We recorded three different groups: a ten-horn ensemble, a ten-trombone ensemble and the Horde; a three-cimbasso/three-tuba ensemble that has been aggressively processed for maximum beefiness. To get the wide, wall-of-brass sound we were looking for, we sat the players evenly across the stage of a huge concert hall. We also spent a lot of time going for maximum volume, which is no easy task. It got so loud in there that the trombones ended up busting one of the microphones. Congrats were issued.

    Stepping up to the plate with one of the most unique collections of the year is Mexican brass mangler extraordinaire, Borchi. Calling on his compadres, brass band Brass Street Boys, Borchi has re-sampled, twisted and re-imagined each of their instruments into an amalgamation so much greater than the sum of their parts. Combining stomping House and Dancehall grooves, with the flavours of Mexico and Latin America to create an outrageously cool sample collection. Crammed inside this Global Bass sample pack is a plethora of mangled brass samples including tuba, trombone, sax, trumpet and full section mixes. Live rolling drums and snares are reinforced with monstrous drum samples to create something incredibly unique. Dense analogue synths cheekily play the role of call and response with the boisterous brass progressions and guarantee to add a sense of carnival fun to your next composition. We’ve also included some beautiful clean re-recordings for you to re-mix, re-edit and mangle in a way that would make Borchi himself proud.
