    A great drum room! A classic Neve console! 86 drums to choose from… and a legendary rock engineer! Rather than use preassembled drum kits, Andy chose his favorite pieces to create different drum kits for his expansion pack. Each kit was meticulously tuned by Andy himself to create the most kick ass drum library available. 65 Gigs never sounded so good! Recorded at Sound City Studios through the Neve 8028 console, Classic Drums contains samples recorded in the big tracking room as well as in the echo chamber. Classic Drums has as many as 256 velocity levels when fully installed.

    Henry Hirsch is credited with being the impetus behind the vintage gear movement in the recording industry that continues today. He began his career in Berlin in the late 70’s as a studio musician playing the piano. After a few years he returned to New York City where he opened his first recording studio in his apartment, later moving to Hoboken, New Jersey and opening his Waterfront Studios where he recorded every band in the area and honed his engineering skills. In 1985 he met fellow musician Lenny Kravitz and they became music partners for the next 25 years. After Lenny’s album “Are You Gonna Go My Way” had huge success, Henry built Lenny’s Roxie Studio in Miami Florida.

The snares are captured in similar conditions to the BFD Jazz & Funk and BFD Percussion expansions as well as those used for the Mapleworks kits in BFD3. The sounds work well with any combination of other BFD library sounds, offering a punchy and upfront sound with dynamic playability. When used in BFD3 and BFD2, the snares offer an additional ‘rim click’ articulation as well as a ‘half-edge’ for use with electronic drum positional sensing.

Swan Percussion’s original creations are inspired by a variety of world percussion. The ‘Black Swan Drum’ is a new take on the Ghanaian Gombe framedrum featuring a tom head. Other highlights include the ‘Swango’, a reinterpretation of the bongos, the Afro-Cuban Batá-style ‘Batudu’ and a variety of shakers and cajons. The included set of Crescent Haptic series effect cymbals provide characterful crash, resonator, crash china and ride china cymbal sounds.

    BFD Sphere is a hard rock and metal expansion pack for BFD3, BFD Eco and BFD2. Conceived as Kahney’s ideal drum sound, the pack was recorded with Francesco Cameli (Bullet For My Valentine, Queen, Phil Collins, New Model Army and more) at London’s Sphere Studios before its relocation. The pack includes high-detail 4-tom DW and Vibe kits alongside a Ludwig Black Beauty snare. Drums were tuned to complement the acoustics of Sphere’s live room and were hit by Jamie Postones (Tesseract) and Mike Malyan (Monuments) – highly skilled drummers well respected for bringing a new force to modern drumming. Neve preamps were used throughout for warmth and definition. As well as the natural kits, BFD Sphere comes with additional processed versions designed to be dropped straight into metal and hard rock mixes. All kits feature presets in BFD3, BFD Eco and BFD2 formats with factory cymbals and hihats. Please note that the included snare features Hit and Rimshot articulations only.
