Based around 3 different versions of a Mapex Orion kit with Mapex brass and Brady jarrah wood snares, each with different degrees of processing, BFD Oblivion also contains cymbals from Bosphorus, Zildjian and Paiste in natural and processed versions. Crafted by an in-house team obsessed with metal, BFD Oblivion is processed heavily so you don’t have to – just add your hardest guitars and basses to create an authentic foundation for all kinds of rock and metal music.

BFD Percussion is an add-on expansion which adds an extensive suite of detailed percussion instruments to the drums in your BFD3, BFD2 or BFD Eco installation. Its sounds cover latin, world and kit-centric percussion as well as outlandishly strange junk percussion and kitchenware. Amongst the highlights are congas, bongos, timbales, djembes, darbukas, udu, ashiko, bodhran, chimes, triangles, shakers and tambourines, alongside esoteric effect sounds like thundersheets, waterphones and bowed gongs. The grotesquely beautiful junk percussion range includes trashcans, saw blades, saucepans and other intriguing household objects. In fact, BFD Percussion literally contains the kitchen sink – in full multi-sampled, multi-articulated form! BFD Percussion is produced by the team that brought you BFD Jazz & Funk Collection, and tracked in stunning detail in an intimate room for a tight, controlled sound. The BFD Jazz Noir expansion pack captures a rare, vintage Camco ‘Oaklawn’ drum kit for BFD3. Perfect for all genres of jazz, funk and neo-soul, Camco drums are sought after by players and collectors alike for their clarity of tone and warm sustain. This kit was tuned medium-high and recorded with sticks and brushes. The collection comes with a set of Istanbul cymbals – including a beautiful 24″ ride – plus a 1930s Round Badge Gretsch snare drum, offering a low and fat alternative to the Camco kit snare.

BFD JEX is an expansion for BFD3, BFD Eco and BFD2 featuring a high-end, custom hand-made kit from XDrum’s Xotica line. The included drums possess 6-ply Keller Maple shells with an additional ply of Sapeli Pommele running vertically resulting in focused low-end. The finish is hand-applied tung oil which offers a very open tone. The package also includes a bonus Ludwig snare taken from BFD Jazz & Funk Collection. BFD JEX is recorded in the same room and studio conditions as the BFD Jazz & Funk and BFD Percussion expansions as well as those used for the Mapleworks kits in BFD3.

BFD Jazz Maple is an expansion for BFD3, BFD Eco and BFD2 which combines an immaculately recorded Yamaha Maple Custom drumkit with a set of artist presets and bonus jazz Grooves. Centred around a kit with 2 kicks and 3 toms full of classic maple warmth and sustain, BFD Jazz Maple also includes a bonus reduced-detail snare (taken from BFD Signature Snares Vol.1) and Sabian cymbals (from BFD Jazz & Funk Collection) which are recorded in similar studio conditions. Although the included kit’s tone is particularly suited to jazz, fusion and funk, it’s great for any other musical styles that need expressive and great-sounding drums. BFD Jazz Maple comes complete with a set of 5 Groove palettes from Platinum Samples’ Real Jazz MIDI collection.
