Max is a visual programming language for music, audio and multimedia. With Max for Live you can take your creative freedom to a new level by building your own devices in Live. This Pack gives you a head start working with Max, with free devices, in-depth lessons and a large set of examples to spark inspiration. A tour of Max for Live: this Set contains a number of simple but playful devices designed to highlight the kinds of things Max is capable of. Filler is a MIDI effect that generates drum patterns, Snipper replays and pitches snippets of recorded audio, the Bell Tower instrument is a simple poly synth that uses FM to produce convincing bell sounds, and the Macro Knob device lets you control multiple parameters with one dial.

Microtuner by Ableton is a MIDI device that lets you import, edit, and generate microtonal scales. Load scale files, create custom scales, and morph between tunings in real time – all with polyphony, MPE, and Lead/Follow modes to sync your scales across instruments.

Ableton CV Tools v2.1 ALP

Now in public beta is CV Tools, a new Pack of 10 Max for Live devices that generate or receive Pitch, Control, Clock and Trigger CV. Soon you’ll be able to receive and modulate CV between your modular or other CV-based gear and Ableton Live 10 using a compatible, DC-coupled audio interface. You’ll also be able to use Live as the tempo leader or set it to follow your modular system clock. Plus, even if you don’t own a modular setup, the Rotating Rhythm Generator and CV Utility devices can add modular-style workflow inside Live or to hardware setups that don’t use CV-based equipment. CV Tools is being developed by Ableton in collaboration with Skinnerbox.

Designed to invoke different spaces and settings, these cinematic sounds can create a feeling of intimacy, add tension and suspense, or suffuse productions with movement. Drive tracks into the darkness with creepy experimental noises and tense rhythms, or foster a feeling of wonder with shimmering synths.
