Most studios rely on digital audio workstations (DAWs) for recording, mixing and processing. However, by the simple fact that you are hearing the audio means there’s an analog component present somewhere in the signal path and the audio has been converted from digital to analog in order to be played through studio monitors and headphones. This, essentially, makes every studio a hybrid studio! Including multiple variations, fills and tempos, all intelligently labelled and organised for ease of use and max flexibility.  If there is one thing that is hard to get right during recording – its drums. Without getting everything right from the drummer to the kit to the mics to the room to the mix, drums can so often fall flat on their face and lack the beef to cut through a mix. We wanted to create something that not only achieved this, but took this sound to a whole different level!

Warmth – Analog Drums is a project that we have been working on for a few summer months with a goal to sample 4 rare analog drum synths and squeeze some fresh sounds out of them. Besides the legendary TR-909, the ultimate techno machine extensively sampled here, this pack also features less known beatboxes as Jomox Xbase 09, Vermona DRM1, and Quasimidi Rave-O-Lution 309.All of the above mentioned drum synths are discontinued, though some were reincarnated under new names. Xbase became Alpha Base, TR-909 became digital, Vermona reached mark 4, while Quasimidi stopped producing synths altogether 20 years ago.
