An upright piano with stories to tell. Alt Piano is an old, humble and character-filled upright piano from the 1960s. Recorded with and without felt, this piano has two very different personalities; soft and beautiful or bright and lively. The original recordings have also been transformed into a series of inspiring textural layers. These can be used to create a subtle background ambience to the piano, or made into their own atmospheric organic sounds. There are dozens of other unique controls, making this piano impressively versatile and allowing you to easily create an extensive range of sounds for any genre.

On this course, Ellie takes you through the main steps to producing a magical Indie Pop chorus from scratch. The course starts by putting together the main hook and beats, to establish the foundations of the track, before a bassline is created by combining guitar with a synthesized layer from Logic’s Sculpture. The beats are then bolstered and processed with various effects to fatten up the groove. Following this, Ellie incorporates percussion sounds from multiple objects in her immediate environment, to add quirky rhythms and identifiable textures into the track.

Picking up where Alt and Modern Rock III left off, Alt and Modern Rock IV features decidedly eclectic drum grooves and feels – it’s not your average rock loop disc. With nearly 600 24-bit loops and 96 multi-velocity drum and cymbal samples organized in song-building folders with loops for all song elements: verses, choruses, fills, bridges, breaks, intros, and endings, this collection focuses heavily on the mid-tempo grooves found between 60 and 120 BPM and is a more “out there” rock collection than other Beta Monkey releases. We tried to offer up some fresh new feels with the tight, punchy sounds that are key to today’s modern rock tracks.
