This library is an experiment done by The Last Haven Productions, an idea of what the modern sound design can be when it’s created only with synths. The result is a raft of very stylish, juicy, yet musical effects and instruments that fits any track and can incredibly augment it. “Hybrid Fluids Vol.1” contains traditional sound categories (Downers, Risers, Boomers, Pulses), new experimental packs (Droppers, Strikers, Growls), a bunch of cinematic synth basses and keys and the full synth rendered Sinemacci Orchestra with 4 main sections: strings, brass, woodwinds and percussion. WHAT IS MOCIULA ABOUT?

Mociula is a bundle of synth instruments trying to work like a modular system. It consists of several different tools or modules such as synths generators, effects, filters, a sequencer, a sampler and some other useful as well as unique tools. But surely – as a KONTAKT instrument – there are no options to combine tools at your own requirements, connect cables or change tools/ modules within the instruments. Mociula is not a free-patchable system like you find it in the hardware world. All instruments are predefined and fixed in structure.

SawPad is our latest MLM Lite and comes, actually, through public demand. Following the success of SquarePad, many asked for a sawtooth variation – same thing, basically, but with sawtooth waves instead of squares. And so here it is. Same principle as before – made up of detuned sawtooth waves from our resident Synthesizers.com modular’s three VCOs (voltage controlled oscillators). Like SquarePad, one VCO has an LFO applied for a bit of movement. Furthermore, the samples are well over a minute long which not only gives them time to ‘breathe’ and move but also allowed me to adjust controls in realtime making each sample uniquely animated which all come together beautifully when played polyphonically in Kontakt where they produce a very ‘organic’ and evolving sound.

Antique and old junk shops can be great places to rummage round in, especially the little back street ones run by some eccentric, doddery old bloke in a waistcoat and bow tie. There are loads of them in Britain and our intrepid explorers are never far from one, stumbling across little gems for ‘re-purposing’. And they have found a real belter in the latest. At first, it was thought it was some peculiar radio/TV hybrid … or some old piece of radar equipment. You can imagine our surprise, then, when it was cleaned up, powered up and it started generating bizarre and unusual string and pad sounds coming at us over the decades and reminiscent of the scratchy, crusty soundtracks heard in old black and white movies. It has two layers, BODY and AIR so named because one provides the foundation of the sound while the other provides a lighter component. Each section has three basic sounds which can be tuned, mixed, have vibrato added and shaped and filtered – BODY uses a simple lowpass filter while AIR features a highpass filter to make that section more ‘wispy’.
