BASSWEIGHT is a feature length documentary that offers an unparalleled insight into the subterranean world of Dubstep. Charting the genre’s growth from obscure origins in south London to global recognition today, the film features in-depth interviews with many of the DJ’s, producers and promoters who have been instrumental in Dubstep’s ongoing evolution. Skream, Benga, Kode9 and Mary Anne Hobbs are just some of the key players who have contributed, reflecting on the movement they’ve helped shape; a movement that has come to define the importance of underground music in the 21st Century. This highly stylised film travels from Dubstep’s birthplace in Croydon to Europe, Brazil and Japan, demonstrating just how huge an impact this initially indigenous scene has made at an international level.

Brood features a dual layer architecture (so you can mix two different voices together), drift(variable tuning) controls, creative filters and modulation controls along with a unique gate sequencer for each voice and 4 sends for each voice. Brood includes our innovative scene controls allowing you to define 3 scenes (A, B & C), each containing volume, pan and pitch settings, and then morph between them. The library has been designed to effortlessly layer in with your workflow, allowing you to load in a few patches or drag in the open wave files to give your tracks that modern hybrid sound. Based around a custom Native Instruments Kontakt 5 script, Project ALPHA allows for quick and easy customization of any of the libraries patches. You have the ability to add and manipulate a range of FX at the click of a button. You have the option to easily EQ out unwanted frequencies or adjust the Amp or Filter ADSR right on the front panel of the UI, allowing for ‘synth like’ patch creation. Also built into the custom script is the ability to take any of the sounds and run them through a fully flexible step sequencer, allowing for custom ositnatos and rhythms using any of the samples found in the library. You can adjust which key in a chord will play at each step allowing you to quickly tweak a sound to your liking, set your rhythm and step sequencer notes and hold down a chord, allowing you to focus on the creation of your music and not programing in each note by hand. It includes a wide array of acoustic-hybrid and electronic sounds, which can be played as instruments from your keyboard, or driven directly from the key-triggered FluidPhrase Engine. In concert with the Phrase Envelopes, 5-layered voice architecture, filter modulation and FX, Underscore is a juggernaut of rhythmic scoring.

In keeping with our philosophy of creating innovative new sound design concepts we created Headphase. Headphase is packed with 1323 custom made samples inspired by our love of nostalgic sounds. Each sound can be controlled in many ways and blended to create sonically deep and lush textures. Each sound has been specifcally made for Headphase and we have drawn our inspiration heavily from the Boards of Canada pallette hence the name. On the surface you can start loading presets and playing Headphase instantly and you can get creative by turning a few controls to see what they do but Headphase goes much deeper than this. It uses a new concept ‘Audio Design partials’ to give you access to various parameters while just moving one of 4 knobs. These will open up a world of new sounds. Move a ‘Partial’ knob and listen as the sound morphs and changes in various unexpected ways. We wanted to make an instrument that could be used for rapid inspiration and for generating unique sounds very quickly.
