The sample pack includes 5 themes (76 individual syllables, phrase and ad-lib samples) and SoundFont instrument presets of voice vowels “Ah”, “Eh”, “I”, “Oh” to play background harmonies. Each main theme folder is recorded in assigned keys – G, F#, Fm, F, and Am. And when you sit one of the modern masters of the instrument at the keyboard, that’s when the magic really starts to happen. Recorded at the acclaimed Lucy’s Meat Market Studio in Los Angeles by engineer Pete Min, Larry Goldings Vintage Keys Volume One covers a massive range of soul, funk, blues, jazz and r&b keyboard grooves not only on the Hammond B3, but also on a vintage Wurltizer Electric Piano. Utilizing a combination of classic microphones like Neumann U87s, RCA 44s and Cole room mics, the sound of both the Hammond and the Wurlitzer were captured in pristine and incredibly warm detail. From the percussive taps of Larry’s fingers on the keyboard, to the pumping bass of the Leslie, every nuance of the performance and the instruments are extremely “present” in the mix.
