    Reflex IRs are raw and unprocessed captures that are naturally mix-ready. It has become common practice to rely on post-processing guitar tones and simply accepting the flaws in guitar cabinet design. The reality is that traditional guitar cabs are not optimized for miking up but for loud stage use while a modern guitarist’s first priority is a high quality miked up guitar tone. Reflex IRs are ML Sounds Lab’s FRFR IR solution. We take exquisite examples from our vast guitar speaker collection and maximize their their unfiltered tonal character in a neutral guitar cab optimized for miking up.

    The 412 ORNG Essentials wave audio format impulse response library is based on measurement data from and seeking to recreate the sound of an Orange Amps® PPC412 4×12 closed back cabinet loaded with UK-made Celestion® Vintage 30 speakers from 2010. This particular combination results in sound best described as “chonky”, attributable to the extra deep and chunky sounding cabinet paired with a production period of V30’s that had a tiny bit of juicy honk to the midrange. This sound signature is a unique, one of a kind tone suitable for indy, rock, stoner, metal, and anything in between.

    The 412 EDVH Essentials wave audio format impulse response library is based on measurement data from and seeking to recreate the sound of an EVH® 5150® III 4×12 closed back cabinet loaded with 2006 Celestion® T5600 G12EVH speakers. A first year production specimen, this cabinet and speaker combination exudes a weighty and dense low mid with an upper mid cut that rips and shreds, embodying the later years tone of its namesake. It could best be described as the guitar tone equivalent of analog tape: tight, thick, punchy, round, forward, and smooth all at the same time. From 80’s rock to modern metal, this library presents a sound that is sonically unique, emotionally familiar, and an indispensable tone for the toolbox.
