It was performed by drummer Skye Polson of two-time JUNO Award-winning Canadian group Digging Roots. “I have a swampy, laid-back feel to my style and generally approach playing with pocket and groove in mind first and foremost. My background is mostly in the blues, so I do love to play a good shuffle as well,” Skye says. Expect an eclectic mix of material that touches on a wealth of styles but converge in exactly those two fundamental components: pocket and groove. If you’re looking for a fresh take on some old-school grooves where vibe and mojo are front and center, this MIDI pack will be pure pocket power.

DIGITAL VISION. Drum MIDI inspired by alternative dance music. Inspired by a fraction of the electronic dance genre that virtually has no outer bounds as far as sound or style goes, this MIDI pack throws you in orbit around a MIDI matrix of grooves touching on anything from the basic to the polyrhythmic, the syncopated and the Euclidian. This MIDI pack covers upwards of 350 individually crafted drum MIDI files organized in 40 separate “songs,” each featuring two subfolders of groove variations as well as a third with a basic selection of fills. But, don’t let the simple confines of any individual song or folder constraint your ideas – this MIDI is meant to be experimented with. Assign different sounds to separate parts, or mix, match, layer and slice and dice between tempos and grooves to create your own otherworldly rhythmic foundations.

15 individual instruments, all captured from the classic Mellotron keyboard heard on hits by anything from the Beatles to the Moody Blues and King Crimson. EZkeys Mellotoon is based on the Mellotron keyboard introduced in the early 1960s. This unique instrument was the first of its kind to include samples of real instruments, but as opposed to the modern-day digital sampler, the Mellotron pulled them off a magnetic tape loop that ran inside the keyboard. It came with various sounds for piano, strings, flutes, brass and is likely best described as the first-ever “band in a box”. Naturally, it was a revelation from the get-go. Early adopters included the Beatles, the Moody Blues and King Crimson, who all immortalized the unmistakable tone of the Mellotron in numerous hits.
