Expressive Chords is a Max for Live device for Live 12 Intro, Standard, and Suite that turns single notes into rich, dynamic chords. It helps you to explore harmonies, spark ideas, and perform expressive progressions with ease, especially when paired with Push.
Inspired by Nature is a playful collection of visual Max for Live devices created in collaboration with Dillon Bastan. Produce generative soundscapes, unpredictable melodies and evolving modulations with devices inspired by physical forces and the natural world.
Now in public beta is CV Tools, a new Pack of 10 Max for Live devices that generate or receive Pitch, Control, Clock and Trigger CV. Soon you’ll be able to receive and modulate CV between your modular or other CV-based gear and Ableton Live 10 using a compatible, DC-coupled audio interface. You’ll also be able to use Live as the tempo leader or set it to follow your modular system clock. Plus, even if you don’t own a modular setup, the Rotating Rhythm Generator and CV Utility devices can add modular-style workflow inside Live or to hardware setups that don’t use CV-based equipment. CV Tools is being developed by Ableton in collaboration with Skinnerbox.

We are chasing the particular feeling that comes with perceived loudness; the synesthetic shuddering of sound as it pushes against the limits of the recording medium. This can be used as a barely-there buttress creating a simmering loudening enhancement minus extra lufs, or all the way to heavy-handed have eyeballs rattling. As it is a perceived effect we’ve created a perceptual Moiré pattern that is Failure sensitive, encoded with feedback from the parameters to give immediate visual sense of this unique efx. We suggest you use it on the master, as a send, multiples on individual tracks, buses, side chained to kick-y things, creating sound designed mayhem, or simply as a visual interpolation. Don’t just produce, please Failure gloriously!
