One of the very best Rack Extensions for Reason 7 is Synapse Audio’s electrifying Antidote synthesizer. Antidote does it all, with two extremely versatile oscillators, an authentically-modeled filter section and an amazing suite of onboard effects. NS experienced sound designers have explored the farthest reaches of Antidote’s vast capabilities, and returned with a brand-new ReFill showcasing a world of aural possibilities – Antimatter. Antimatter is focused on doing what Antidote does best – incredibly detailed, rich and spacious pads and atmospheres. Filtered chord washes, space exploration soundbeds, heavenly wavesequences, overdriven growls and various forms of supersaw-esque insanity are all on offer. Not only that, but for certain patches NS has paired up Antidote with Reason’s elder statesmen – Thor and Malstrom – to create Combinators of truly epic sonic scale.
The first additive synth for Reason is now available – the Parsec Spectral Synthesizer. Parsec is truly an amazing piece of audio engineering, capable of sounds that would simply never be possible in the virtual analog realm of Thor and Subtractor. Today NS has released the first Reason ReFill created specifically for Parsec – Hyperdrive. Are you ready to blast off into the spectral reaches of Reason? Hyperdrive contains a full palette of new sounds for Parsec, suitable for a variety of electronic music genres – such as ambient, IDM, trance, or filmscore. NS has employed five experienced sound designers to produce a ReFill of truly varied scope. Inside Hyperdrive you’ll find their work has produced Blade Runner-esque FX, piercing psychedelic leads, glassy sweeping pads, hybrid Parsec/Thor duets as well deep sci-fi atmospheres.
The Horizon Series’ Mallets collection features all of the mallet instruments from the Vienna Symphonic Library Pro Edition as well as temple blocks and wood blocks. It is the largest and most comprehensive library for mallet instruments ever created. It’s extensive articulations include a variety of single strokes played with up to six different mallets, tremolos, chord tremolos and glissando for every instrument as well as loads of special effects like bowed notes (vibraphone, marimba), notes played with a superball, rubber, fingernails (marimba), cluster mallets (xylophone) and more.
Barbary Grant is a highly renowned vocalist and harper within Celtic communities. She sings- and articulates fluently- in all three Goidelic languages: Scots Gaelic, Irish, and Manx. This homage won her first place in the sean nós competition at the 1998 Great American Irish Fair. Sean nós – “old style” in Irish – is a highly ornamented style of a cappella singing.
The library is constructed from over a thousand different vocal phrases covering over 15 hours of recording material. The phrases are divided into a variety of categories varying from some of the oldest songs known to man from the ancient Sanskrit chants to free improvisational phrases. The library has specific patches such as Balkan, Lullaby, Sanskrit Chants, Witch Chants and so forth. In addition some phrases in the library were recorded 2-3 times, which allows for a more broad type of vocal sound by layering the same phrase two or three times.
The Epic Tom Ensemble is a large multi-sample library dedicated to massive ensemble percussion. We captured a variety of power articulations, using a combination of high-tuned 10″ – 14″ toms, roto-toms and octabans, various floor toms, bass drums and custom designed mega-toms.
