The Pump Organ. A small organ where air is pumped using your feet. Common in small chapels and schools 40-50 years ago. A small, simple organ with tons of charm! Nothing you would play the Toccata on, but try some Tom Waits songs! Recorded in Stereo using a pair of AKG 414. Available in Gigastudio 3 24 bit, Gigastudio 2.5 16 bit (works in all samplers that reads Giga format) and a 24 bit combined HALion/Kontakt version. The instrument was sampled in thirds, (C, D#, F# and A) in each octave.

This harpsichord was recorded in Studio Kuling using two Neuman KM84 microphones. The instrument was sampled in thirds, (C, D#, F# and A) in each octave. All samples are full envelopes, no loops! Releasesamples was recorded separately to give the instrument the typical sound that a harpsichord produces when a key is released.

Blue Grand – The Character Grand Piano

The Blue Grand is the perfect piano when you want something that’s a bit more mellow, old school and ambient sound. The great instrument used for the White Grand and White Sister, a large Malmsjo Grand, a 100 year old beauty, was here used to create their more soft spoken sister. The instrument was miked up pretty closed, to remain contact with the instrument, but room mikes was used to give it a more ambient character. It was also tuned to give a bit more movement in the tone, giving it an even more old school sound. No bells and whistles on this one. Hammerback and pedal noise samples that gives it intimisy and presence, (no pedal noise on the HALion 3 and EXS24 versions due to limitations in the sampler). The Blue Grand is not the ultimate Grand Piano that will cover all bases, but if you need a ambient, old school instrument that still has precense, look no further!
