Down Tempo Grooves (DOD Vol. 15) was inspired by both a sound and playing technique. The playing approach is minimalistic. Simple fills and grooves at tempos between 40-105 BPM. This approach gives the user a great deal of space to play with and room for the sounds to develop and “speak.” Down-tempo grooves features a very soft playing style. Massive amounts of tape compression were used to “gain” the drums back up to a normal volume. The end result are drum tracks that have an “in your face wet punch” with the sound of smooth tape compression. A kick drum with great low end makes these loops a perfect match for Soul, RnB, Hip Hop, Pop Ballads, Retro, etc.
