Insanity Saw was born from a very simple question: can you ever have too many sawtooths? Our instinctive answer here in the lab was “no, of course not. More saws good!” (And as Robert Heinlein once said, “Everything in excess – moderation is for monks” – which holds good for synthesisers as well as other things.)

Just as the smoke clears around the release of producer Belibat’s Galaxy Gunslinger retro-cinematic sci-fi loop drop, along comes its sequel, Galaxy Gunslinger II: Sci-Fi Adventure. While more subdued, pensive, and exotic than its predecessor, this second offering brings the same dramatic feels and big-screen gestures. Here, Belibat is going for nuance, separation of elements, and precise control over tension cues. Symphonic elements and vintage synth sounds come packed in folders for drums (symphonic and tribal), horns (French, trombone, trumpet), keys (sound-designed piano), strings (acoustic, full section), synths (atmospheric) and woodwinds (bassoon, clarinet, flute) for a total of 83 loops; an accompanying one shots folder contains eleven deeply textured impact sounds to accent your tracks.
Rock-solid session drummer, Andrea Ge, lays down some serious rock drumloops. All the drum grooves were played by this highly sought-after Italian rock drumming legend. He used three different drum kits: a all maple drum kit, a “Roswell” aluminum set and “Bonsai Kit” made from birch. Six different snare drums: brass, maple, steel, aluminum and bronze plus tons of different cymbals. Recorded at Pickaboo Studio and Umbi Studio in Milan, Italy, these drum grooves are a serious necessity for the rock producer. Some loops feature reverb, some don’t; but all are serious rock! If you need rock drumloops, don’t let this one slip through the cracks!
