Reanimator is an advanced dual sequencer which re-sequences Loop Slices. there are 2 identical machines and each can sequence Trigger/Volume, Filter Cutoff, the Wave Index (which of the 126 loops in a bank will play) and which of the 16 Slices will play. This is a powerful and creative process which can yield surprising results. Furthermore, the Modulation Wheel is used to offset the current Wave Index for instantly remixing the Sequence, and it can also be used to find the most interesting variation and then by using the Set Wheel button store it to the sequencer. The machines also can select a Filter type from a large list, loop Speed, set the Cutoff and Resonance, set the Filter Envelope amount and Decay time, the Volume Decay time, a 24 semitone pitch offset, Pan and Machine Volume. All of these parameters can be automated by the DAW which adds a lot of scope to the Instruments capabilities.
In the aftermath of the abolition of slavery in the Caribbean, the East Indian indentured labourers arrived bringing with them another culture to the melting pot of the West Indies. Foremost of the elements which they brought with them was their musical identity. East Indian indentured labourers came mainly from the Hindustan belt to cultivate the sugar plantations predominantly in Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, and Guyana. This sample library offer comprises the two major musical sub-genres to emerge within the history of West Indian Creole musical innovations, both of which are the result of the East Indian immigrant presence in the Caribbean.
In Trinidad and Tobago’s rich musical landscape the rhythm section or ‘engine room’, as it is commonly referred to, is the group of percussion instruments that traditionally accompanied the steelpans, providing the pulse and rhythmic drive for the entire band. The sound of the rhythm section is one which when heard evokes feelings of festivity and celebrations as it fills the air with the clangs of iron and metal, an abrasive symphony of energy. Regarded as the premier engine room in Trinidad, the Laventille Rhythm Section born out of the hills of Laventille over two decades ago, has evolved through its instrumental and rhythmic innovations, into an entity which can command a performance all on its own. The vibrations which are created whenever they perform is nothing short of phenomenal.
