Zeds Dead is a Canadian electronic music duo from Toronto, Ontario composed of Dylan Mamid, or DC, and Zach Rapp-Rovan, or Hooks. DC and Hooks have been producing music together since 2004, formerly as Mass Productions.^[1] In the summer of 2007, they released one Hip-Hop influenced album as Mass Productions, entitled Fresh Beetz, before launching Zeds Dead in 2009.^[2] The duo are currently signed to the record label, Mad Decent, and have released music on several others; much of their music remains bootlegged, unofficially released, or given away as free downloads. Their name “Zeds Dead” is a reference from a scene in the 1994 Quentin Tarantino film Pulp Fiction.

Simple Sampling – a name, a concept!

When we first started working on a fun ReFill based on the Stylophone we recorded it for sampling purposes: we sampled this little toy note by note. Besides programming a patch that matches the real thing we also tweaked the NNXT to go some extra steps. Some fat funky clavinet-style patches caught us by surprise. While producing the Stylofunk mini track (apart from the loop it´s entirely based on Stylophone samples) we added lots of extra cool stuff to this ReFill: a “single-sample-Rhodes”, a “single-sample-Piano”, a “single-sample-Kalimba” and a lot of other nifty stuff…

The ReFill project Salad Bar showcases a choice of many fine patches one can find in all our ReFills. Together they form a magnificent collection of patches brought together in this ever growing ReFill since in future many patches stemming from the upcoming ReFill range will also be added to Salad Bar. And in this way Salad Bar versions 2, 3, 4 et cetera will be created. Every time when a new Soundcells ReFill will be released, Salad Bar will get its next update! Besides this we will also add lots of unique Salad Bar only patches. The Salad Bar backdrops will show you which patches are coming from which ReFills. Patch name additions like “v2“ or “v3“ make clear from which SB version the sound is coming.

Electric Strummer Reason Refill is an NN-XT sound library that bridges the gap between keyboards, tube amps, and electric guitar. It uses AW’s patent-pending G-Mapping, which allows the user to literally strum guitar chords on any MIDI keyboard with the included nylon guitar pick so you play killer leads unlike any other guitar sample library! ChromaVibe patches use Chromatic Morphing Harmonics, fueled by over 300 premium, 24-bit samples with up to 21 different alternating samples per note. Each guitar sample starts out as a tube-driven electric guitar note, then using a special guitar technique, pitch-shifts with each alternating note literally evolving into its relative harmonic with real guitar vibrato.
