ResonHeart is the physical modeling simulation of a never seen before, experimental, aerophone-based acoustic instrument. Characterized by a complex modal-based architecture, this original machine has expressly been built to mimic the sound of different families of acoustic instruments – like winds, membranes, chromatic percussions, ethnic lutes and whistles, glasses, cymbals and crashes, vocal ensembles and choirs, or even an entire orchestral strings section – as well as to produce very unconventional, organic tones, evolving textures and expressive motion pads.

Both main instruments can be used individually, but together they form unique sonic texture unlike anything ever heard. In simple terms, EZkeys Cinematic Grand is a prepared piano – a traditional instrument that’s had its sound altered by objects placed on or between the strings. But in this case, that’s simplifying too much. EZkeys Cinematic Grand presents an all-new hybrid instrument where perfect fidelity meets altered harmonics and layered textures to form never-before-heard piano timbres. Based on a classic Bösendorfer from 1891, this one-of-a-kind instrument was recorded in four individual configurations – one where horsehair was used as a bow on each piano string (‘Bowed’); one where the strings were struck by hand (‘Plucked’); one where various preparations were added to generate a muffled tone color (‘Damped’) and, in opposite, one where the overtones were exaggerated, producing an ambient and soaring timbre (‘Harmonic’).

HydraTone is a five-band convolution EQ with fixed-curve bass and treble bands and true parametric low-mid, mid and high-mid bands. Additionally, HydraTone offers separate bass and treble filter sections featuring the unique ability to provide both filter-cut and filter-expansion processing. HydraTone allows the user to do more than simply select a single classic analog circuit for their EQ model; HydraTone also allows the user make this selection on a band-by-band basis. This allows the user to, for example, simultaneously use one EQ model on the bass band and a separate model on the high-mid band. HydraTone’s output stage provides several additional algorithms. The first is a unique signal warming and mild compression algorithm called “Fire”. The second is the ability to perform frequency-specific phase manipulation similar to that of hardware boxes popular for aligning multi-signal pairs. Finally, HydraTone allows the user to select a completely separate signal-path model for final output coloration.
