The Wall is is a brick wall limiter designed with one thing in mind: Make your mixes loud without screwing up your mix. No matter what side of the loudness wars you’ve decided to plant yourself on, the need to make mixes loud for clients isn’t going away any time soon. Sending your clients home with a mix that is just as loud as the professional mixes they are used to hearing is an important part of any mixing engineer’s job. But nothing drives me more insane than listening to all my hard work turn to garbage when pushing the mix loud. That’s why we made this plugin. We wanted a mastering limiter that lets you push your mixes loud and still keep the punch in your drums and keep your tonality intact.

‘1981’ is a classic 70s to 80s crossover library inspired by the seventies disco tradition with an early eighties vibe to it. While older seventies productions sounded more vintage and tighter, here you can hear the characteristic eighties fueled hyper sound featuring more complex arrangements and more sophisticated mixing. ‘1981’ reflects the early eighties shift towards individual producers who had their own signature sound and invited their own session musicians into the studio. The drums were played by The Sound Of Merlin’s drummer, Sander de Groot in a dry recording room on a large DS drum set with 2 rack toms and 2 floor toms, a 22 x 18 inch kick drum and a aluminum snare, all meticulously tuned to the key of G minor. Cymbals were manufactured by Murat Diril from Turkey who collaborated with Paiste. In the single hits folder you’ll find 146 individual drums and cymbals sampled in all dynamic steps to blend in (or alter) with the drum loops if desired. 13 microphones were used to record the drums.

Stereo Compressor For Mastering Tool or Channel Strip

DNX-03 is a three-band stereo Compressor (win vst plugin) inspired by the analog models, with some added features such as noise reduction and wide stereo control for each individual freq-band. The DNX-03 is able to split the incoming signal into three frequency-bands using a 6dB per octave crossover. First-order filters are considered by many audiophiles to be ideal for crossovers. Each band is passed through a compressor and then through a stereo processor where compression,gain and stereo image can be altered and improved. The outputs of the compressors and processors are then re-combined and fed to the master output.

Pana is a sophisticated stereo tool designed to let you do more elegant, natural audio positioning than what regular balance panning might accomplish. Panning an audio signal can be done in several ways, where the most common is to alter the volume on one channel. This is a CPU efficient way (and many times the best) to achieve a sense of positioned audio. Almost every DAW and mixing console have this feature built-in. Another way is to add a short delay to one of the channels – the Haas method. This renders a richer sound, but can also make a sound come off as somewhat unnatural. A more elegant way is to apply a low pass filter to one of the channels. This maintains the audio energy on both channels, but at the same time makes it sound positioned. This works very well on transient rich sounds like drums or other percussive instruments.
