EThe Vintage Rock EZX is based around one of the world’s most classic, timeless and famed drum kits, the legendary Ludwig* Keystone. Starting in the mid 1960s, this classic and forever timeless set of drums was immortalized by a long string of influential artists and drummers like The Beatles’ Ringo Starr and John Bonham of Led Zeppelin.

Arguably more so than in any genre, the rhythm section is the heart and soul of reggae. Coherently it forcefully pushes the music forward, always with the characteristic, steady beat of the drums at the very forefront. The Reggae EZX takes the traditional sound and recording techniques of reggae drums and puts it in the powerful framework of today’s most intuitive tool for drum production, EZdrummer 2. The Reggae EZX was recorded at Rub-a-Dub Studios in Stockholm, Sweden and comes with a unique and genuine collection of instruments, all handpicked for this session. It includes two full, single-headed custom drum kits, a generous selection of snares, percussion and traditional Binghi and clay hand drums.
In the concluding chapter of the New York Studios series, drummer Nir Z paints with broad strokes and delivers a highly versatile battery of drum grooves and fills. This MIDI pack comes from the much anticipated continuation of New York Studios Legacy series, focusing on capturing the best studios in the New York area. Nir Z, the drummer behind the project, is an in-demand session drummer that has played and learned to master a wide variety of styles over the years. He’s toured or done studio work with artists like Joss Stone, Genesis, John Mayer, Jason Mraz and Chris Cornell. Quite frankly, Nir Z is the ultimate definition of a well-rounded studio drummer – something that is obvious in this MIDI pack! This collection includes a wide array of grooves and fills, covering anything from ballads, mid tempo rock, funk and reggae to jazzy swing and uptempo trainbeats!
EZkeys MIDI that merges hip-hop with that unmistakable soul-like flair of R&B. In today’s music landscape, the lines between genres keep getting more and more smudged – especially so when it comes to the likes of hip-hop and R&B. Collaborations, guest appearances, performing producers and DJs – the field is wide open for players on both sides of the ‘fence’ to explore and evolve. A hip-hop track can include sung verses and big vocal choruses while an R&B song can build predominantly on rap. No given set of rules applies, and like in all creative contexts, with a blank slate comes borderless creation, new ideas and open minds.

From the frail harmonics of a subtly struck open chord at the top of the octaves to the thunderous impact of a percussive pattern at the low bass range, the piano has a voice like no other. It literally covers the entire dynamic and expressive scope – melody, harmony and rhythm. This collection of EZkeys MIDI sets out to do just that: give you a broad palette of big band-inspired song structures across all tempos, feels and styles that apply.
