The BXO9 plugin is a workhorse plugin with over 100 playable HQ instruments ranging from 808s, Bass, Ambience, Makeshifts, Plucks, Pads and more. I bet at this point you’re probably thinking to yourself “great another rompler plugin” but I will explain and let you hear why the BXO9 is different. BXO9 offers a range of hand made craft sounds that have that realistic organic sound to them so when you are playing, you can hear and feel the vibrations, sparking those creative juices. With BXO9 you can select one sound, so for example I have selected a string sound from the strings category, I can now utilize the layer channels to sculpt and layer the selected sound into something completely different. The layer-able layers offer percussive elements with great play ability and harmonic values. These 4 layers consist of metallic, wooden, glass, and hit like textures that allow the user to sculpt a new sound from the selected sound. Even the 808s come with 4 layer-able 808’s that you can layer over the selected 808. I am confident you will enjoy using the BXO9 and use it time and time again. Matrix – The Voice Coder is “The Vocoder for the 21st century”.

The Vocoder was invented by Homer Dudley in the mid-30’s of the last century. Dudley worked at Bell Laboratories, and this is where the first Vocoder took shape. The basic function of a Vocoder is characterized by an analysis of the input signal, usually speech but other type of inputs can also be very interesting. In a special filter bank, a spectral analysis is performed and signals are developed which follows the amount of spectral energy in each channel. Another part of the analyzer tests if there are unvoiced or voiced sounds at any particular time and extracts the pitch of the voiced sounds. The output section of the vocoder consists of a stereophonic synthesis filter bank which assembles the new synthetic speech from the characteristic filter envelopes from the analysis stage together with an external or internal replacement signal.

CHORAL: CLASSIC CHORUS AND MORE

CHORAL takes sonic inspiration from some of the most prized chorus effects of the last 40 years – including iconic rack-mount and synth-based ‘unison’ effects. Add width, movement, sheen, and shimmer to any signal, or take advantage of an all-new feedback mode, Scatter. It avoids the unpleasant metallic quality of heavy feedback settings in traditional designs, instead creating an entirely new reverb-like effect. CHORAL has four sound modes, each with a distinct character.  The unifying factor of all the classics that inspired CHORAL is that they featured little, if any, customization options. On, Off, and Type, were typically the only controls. CHORAL, on the other hand, offers many custom parameters. The number of chorus voices can be set progressively from one to three, the sync rate can be manually altered, as can the modulation rate, amount, mix, delay time, stereo width, and feedback (the latter offering an entirely new routing option, called Scatter).

Not satisfied simply recreating vintage analog tape and pedal flanging effects – though it does both beautifully – FLAIR adds a revolutionary new Voices mode which uses multiple delay lines to create tuned harmonic flanging layers and resonances. It even features 24 chord settings, offering a variety of chords and note intervals.
