Months of development went into the stems. Initially scheduled for Autumn 2015 release they were pulled at the last minute to add one vital ingredient – The Warmth, depth and gentle drive of real analogue tape. After many tests that ranged from everything from a 1/2 inch process ( too clean ) to a 3 head cassette machine ( too horrible ), an ex-broadcast Hi Speed Revox B77 was chosen as the machine giving the right amount of vintage flavour and grit to the drum Stems. This process instantly made them work together in a way that was just impossible by any other means – Time well spent During the development we also had the new range of Roland Boutique synths in for review. All the Musical parts, solos and FX of the main audio demo above are included in the Larger Zip files – Do whatever you wish with them. There’s even an alternative set of stems from the “Cities” drumtrax at a slower tempo Rex files of all the principal parts are provided so you can move parts between the stem pages and into any other production As one last shot – All individual sounds are available as Menu Styled kits along with all the FX on a Separate arrange page – you can create entirely new drum arrangements without leaving this page…

On the surface, a lot of alternative rock grooves can sound seemingly basic. If you start scrutinizing them, however, you’ll realize there is a lot going on. In fact, for a genre where musical prowess often is downplayed in favor of artistic expression, there is much to be attributed to the players. Essentially, keeping it simple is hard – especially when it comes to the drums. “When researching this MIDI pack and digging through a virtually bottomless well of songs of the genre, what I realized was how much the smallest details actually add to the bigger picture. Even though subtle, every ghost note and accent play a pivotal role in each groove. As a drummer, coming up with ideas for this package was a real eye-opener,” says drummer Paul Szlachta.

The Mongolian Vibe from the Steppes MaTouQin (horse-headed fiddle, aka morin khuur), as one of the precious legacies of the Mongolian people, has been heartily embraced by Chinese musicians today as a vital musical element. Its unique sound character complements other classical Chinese instruments in a way like no others. MaTouQin is believed to be originated from the nomadic people during the Tang Dynasty (7th – 10th centuries), and became widely known circa Genghis Khan’s reign. Nowadays, like many other Mongolian legacies, Matouqin has become a valuable part of Chinese culture. Besides the horse-headed pegbox, MaTouQin is very recognizable for its unusual playing techniques and styles. Our production approached MaTouQin in pursuit of the indigenous flavour instead of the more Westernized style, and by delivering that flavour, all the composers and musicians now have a chance to explore and express in the most authentic and original Mongolian flavour easily.

Kuvert defines a whole new way of dealing with effects. In short, Kuvert allows you to draw five different envelopes. These envelopes control different effect parameters, and can be drawn freely or onto a grid.
